Job Description and Duties
- Live on site in own recreational vehicle, (no pop tent campers), there are no other campers or RV’s on site. It is essentially a picnic area. Power, water, septic supplied. There is no TV cable service available on site. Telephone service is available at your expense. Facilities include two tennis courts, nice nature walking path, and boat dock which are free for your use on your days off.
- Working hours: 9AM to 6PM, 5 days a week, including weekends. Additionally the security gate must be closed and locked at 8PM. Days off are covered by a part-time attendant, and you will coordinate with him as to which days you would like to have off. The attendant is on duty from 9AM to 8PM. Except for emergency personal matters, you are required to work all weekends. Although we are advertising for couples, the job is for one person, but can be shared between the two people.
- Establish a friendly atmosphere by greeting visitors. Monitor compliance to rules and pleasantly remind people of the rules should an infraction occur.
- Inspect boats, trailers, and motors/propellers prior to launching for invasive plants. Boat owners must remove ALL plant material from their boats and trailers before launching. You are not required to identify invasive plants however a training manual is provided.
- Collect day-use fees and fees for season pass bumper stickers, and issue receipts for sales of the passes. Day-usage fee includes use of all facilities and boat launch. There is no charge after 6:00 PM. Monies collected shall be submitted to the area supervisor. Records are to be kept for each fee collected.
- Keep the facility, clean and presentable. (You may set your own working hours for doing the daily trash patrol of the area. Most patrons are very conscientious about picking up their trash.)
- Moving 6 trashcans to the pick-up point one day a week . Handicap portable toilet is maintained under contract. You must monitor provider's compliance to the contract and let the area supervisor know if there is a problem.
- There are two out house-type restrooms with two stalls each. These require daily sweeping and cleaning, monitoring toilet paper supplies and insuring the hand cleaners are full.
- The clothes-changing building may require sweeping and general cleaning. One of the changing rooms includes a baby changing station that will need daily monitoring for cleanliness and replacement of supplies.
- Locking and unlocking the main gate at the posted times. Notify beach guests before locking the gate. Gate is opened at 9:00 AM and locked at 8:00 PM.
- Keep the cell phone, provided by the Town for emergencies, charged and turned on.
- Report any vandalism or repairs needed to the area supervisor.
- Report any major incidents with patrons, should they occur, via written report to supervisor (there were 2 such incidents last year).
- There is some sports equipment available for free use by visitors. This must be checked out from you and checked back in.
- Monitor 8 charcoal grills at the end of each day to be sure they are extinguished. Clean them out on an as-needed basis, using the provided metal container. (Grills are concentrated in the main area of the park, so it is easy to do this.)
- Light grounds maintenance means picking up trash as needed, mowing as needed (rarely and a relatively small area), and keeping the area around the charcoal grills clean of pine needles (rake provided along with wheelbarrow and flat shovel).
